It was just this week I was cursing Instagram for having to log in and out of my accounts to manage different profiles. Multi-user friends, rejoice! One of the world’s most popular apps has finally done what users have been asking for and added support for multiple accounts in the native Instagram app.
Here’s how to add accounts in Instagram:
- Go to Settings (the little gear in the top right corner of the app)
- Scroll all the way to the bottom of the settings menu. Under The ‘About’ section, keep scrolling until you see ‘Clear search history’. Underneath that, you should see ‘Add account’. See photo.
- Click on ‘Add Account’ and it will prompt you to log in to another account.
- Voila! You’re done!
To manage each profile, you click on your name along the top bar of the app screen (and beside it there’s now a small arrow). Touching it will give you a drop-down menu of accounts to select from.
If you don’t see your name along the top and it says ‘Instagram’, click the tiny photo that you should now see at the extreme bottom right corner of the app screen. This should give you the drop-down menu.
This news may have just made my week! Thanks Instagram!
