Photography gadgets you need

Photography gadgets you need

This week on CTV Tech Talk, I showed Jefferson gadgets for taking better photos and devices that can help you print them easily at home too. From flexible spider-like tripods, to mini pocket printers you can bring to a party, check out the gear that makes photography fun again.

Joby gorillapod hybrid erinlyyc camera photoJoby tripods & gear

Joby is well known for its quality photo gear. Using one of its GorillaPod flexible tripods, you can stabilize your shot and snap pictures from anywhere. The tripod’s flexible rubberized legs can wrap around nearly anything, from trees, to posts, mailboxes and rocks. Plus the durable size of the GorillaPod Hybrid means you can use it for your smartphone with an adapter (the GripTight Mount) or with a heavier DSLR camera body.  If you pick up the mini remote control that Joby also makes, you can even snap remote photos for yourself from nearly anywhere.

The GripTight POV device holds a smart phone securely and will prevent it from falling in the water or down a mountainside. These gadgets are great for people who love the outdoors or for people who just generally want to make improvements to their smart phone photos.

Read more details about the gear I tried from Joby here.

FujiFilm Instax Share SP2 photo printer

fuji fujifilm instax camera prnter polaroid photo photography erinlyycFujifilm has recently upgraded its pocket photo printer, the Instax Share, to make numerous improvements; the new model is known as the SP-2. It prints mini size photos only, that measure 62mm x 46mm or 3″x 2″. I had a chance to test this device for several weeks, so click here for the review. It’s one of my favourite photo gadgets of all the new items I tested.

Polaroid SnapTouch camera & printer in one

Polaroid snap touch printer camera erinlyycThis device is an all-in-one camera and mini photo printer.  The SnapTouch is a small cute looking camera that’s pretty portable. You can take photos on its 13mp camera and print them on the spot, or connect it to your smartphone and print photos from there.

I did some testing of the Polaroid SnapTouch camera and photo printer – read the full review and details about how it works, and what kind of photo quality you get, here.

Polaroid compact zip Photo printer is a dedicated printer that will give you small 3″ x 2″ prints. These photos come out of the printer fully formed and ready to go; there is no developing time needed. Have a look at what you can expect from the Polaroid Zip here.
