weiser premis kwikset smart lock apple home kitThe Weiser Premis is a smart connected lock with digital touch screen. Users can key in a numerical code to open the lock, or use an Apple iPhone.

Using the iPhone, you can open the lock with the free Weiser Premis app, or by asking Siri to do it for you.

There’s also a set of physical keys in the package so you can lock and unlock the old fashioned way.

The lock conveniently runs off four AA batteries and you can check their status inside the app. A warning light on the inside of the lock will also come on when the batteries are dying. 4K Apple TV

If you want to control your Weiser Premis smart lock from outside the home, you’ll need an Apple TV. Apple TV uses your home’s Wi-Fi to ‘talk’ to the Premis lock, allowing you to use it anywhere.

Of course Apple TV is also an amazing ultra high definition entertainment portal, bringing streaming TV into your home. This version of Apple TV allows you to access 4K resolution video programs, which gives you much sharper, clearer, ultra realistic video.

August Smart Lock Pro

As our homes are getting smarter and more connected, how we access our homes is also adapting. Smart locks are growing in popularity, (read about Weiser Premis here) and one of the most well known is the August lock. August smart lock pro review how to

August is an easy to install locking mechanism that converts your existing door lock to a smart access device with minimal work and no need to change your lock or re-key.

The device consists of a grapefruit-sized round metal locking mechanism that fits on the inside of your door. The August Smart Lock Pro kit has that same locking mechanism along with a DoorSense sensor which can tell you if your door is ajar, plus a Wi-Fi bridge to allow remote access to the lock when you’re not in Bluetooth range. Google Pixel 2 smartphone

The phone is BlackBerry’s first new offering I’ve paid attention to since I ditched my old Curve about ten years ago. Can it woo back business users and those for whom physical keyboards are a must have?

  11. Just replaced the older Weiser lock on my front door. There was only an internal worn part but under the lifetime warranty Weiser sent us a complete replacement and updated Smart lock system. I was impressed. I am interested in this new Premis Weiser lock. I’m fascinated with the wireless capability! Enjoyed your segment on CTV this morning. Anne
